According to the latest data released by Omdia, global wearable device shipments are expected to exceed 200 million units in 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 6%.
The data reveals that Xiaomi has regained the top spot for the first time since 2020, becoming the world's largest wearable device vendor with an 18% market share. Apple follows closely in second place with 17%, Huawei in third with 16%, followed by Samsung (9%) and Garmin (5%). Meanwhile, market concentration is increasing, with the top five vendors dominating the market, and the gap between the top three is extremely small, indicating fierce competition.
Omdia Research Manager Cynthia Chen stated, "The wearable device competition is shifting from a simple hardware battle to an ecosystem competition. The gap between the top three is less than one percentage point, and competitive advantage depends on seamless cross-device collaboration and the ability to transform data into monetizable services."
The report points out that Xiaomi's rise is not due to a single star product, but rather to a systematic multi-category product strategy. Xiaomi's Mi Band continues to support mass-market shipments, while its entry-level smartwatches, equipped with self-developed chips and deeply integrated into the ecosystem, are helping Xiaomi enhance its overall value proposition.
